Sheikh Nasar designed and built an interactive timeline showing the history of selected fonts from the middle ages. The system is designed as a vertical scroller with a rollover effect on the type.
As the page is scrolled, the title and description of the selected type is pushed to the top of the page with the word ‘typography’ a persistent element in the centre.
As the details ascend into place and then up and out of the upper edge, the type changes letter by letter to the new style.
A horizontal indicator shows how quickly the user is advancing through the system, and gives an indication of how the user is progressing.
Overall, a well designed minimal interface with simple interactions. There is plenty still to implement here but a promising start to the project.
